Pine Cone and Pine Cedar Cone Jams
The idea of making jam of pine and cedar cones arose from a monk of the Svyato-Kosminskaya Pustyn after he had visited mount Athos in Greece: where in one of monasteries he was treated to a delicacy - chestnut jam. The monk decided to make something similar using available ingredients in Russia.
Pine or pine cedar cones boiled down in sugar syrup give a unique sweet and coniferous taste, great aroma and a color likewise buckwheat honey. The cones become completely ready-to-eat.
